Janine Lamy

In June 2012 Martin’s event mare Lexie gave birth to Millie, a pretty bay filly by Groomsbridge May I (the sire of both Tinka and Lily). Millie appears to be both cheeky and intelligent, time will tell but possibly the next Naughty Brown Pony following in the footsteps of her Granny Ivy and Auntie Tinka!

Millie came home summer 2015 as a three year old to be backed. She took everything in her stride and was a superstar. She was then turned away until March 2016 when she has come back into work with Martin.

She quietly progressed as a four year old through 2016. She is a very bold young horse; happily hacking out on her own and slowly learning to jump. She proved to be a natural when XC schooled for the first time. Good baby pony!

In 2017 she slowly continued her education and made her BE80 debut at Chilham at the end of the summer delighting us with a 9th place. She then went to Horseheath for the BE80 and did even better for 4th, and finished her year jumping clear XC round the BE90 at Tweseldown.

She started 2018 with an 8th at Poplar BE90 and a solid run at Munstead but then banged her check ligament and tendon in the field. Although minimal damage we decided to be cautious and rest her, and started again at the end of the summer with a few solid runs including 10th at Little Downham.

She has started 2019 with double clear in both Poplar and Munstead BE90s, and then has completed her first season at BE100. She picked up a 3rd at Horseheath in the summer, and in her three years of BE she has never incurred a cross-country fault. Her showjumping however, is not her strength!

During 2020 she continued to consolidate her experience at BE100 including qualifying for an Area Festival which she contested in 2021 at Firle and would have been placed had her jockey not missed a fence. Her only XC fault in her life so far! She has moved onto BE100+ and BE105 and in did her first CCI* Intro in 2021 at Chilham finishing a very creditable 13th. Millie is fun and feisty!
