Janine Lamy

Lexie is now 20 years old. She was bred by the late Jemima Johnson out of her Advanced mare Bonnie Lane and is by Sarah Bullen’s Advanced stallion Rock King. She’s about 16 hands, and pretty much full TB.

She is Martin’s horse and came to us as a scrawny unbacked three year old called only ‘Little Black Mare’. She was a star as a young horse; placed at Pre-Novice in her very first event and qualified for the PAVO Young Horse Championship as both a five and six year old.  She has 26 BE points, upgrading to Intermediate aged 7 with a Novice win at Poplar Park.

They had the occasional (or should I say ‘annual’ !) British Dressage outing where Martin liked to prove to the dressage fraternity that he has what it takes, and they hunted fairly regularly with the Coakham Bloodhounds.

She stayed at Groomsbridge Stud for nearly five years where she had two foals; a pretty bay filly ‘Millie’ by their stallion ‘Groomsbridge May I’ and the laid back ‘Rodney’ who is by the Jumbo stallion Med Night Mahout. She is now back in work, and has gone to a super loan home to start her third career in dressage, and do some jumping for fun.

In their first year together Beverly and Lexie became the Pony Club Open Dressage To Music Champions at the PC Championships. They then went on to start 2016 with a win in the Merrist Wood BD Regional (Restricted Elementary Freestyle to Music), became the U25 Elementary Champion at Bury Farm and came 9th in the BD Winter National Championships in the Restricted Elementary Freestyle to Music. We are so pleased that she is having fun again.
